Where is Queen’s University Belfast located?

Queen’s University Belfast is based in the Queen's Quarter, Belfast's southernmost quarter, which takes its name from the university. It’s well connected to the city centre, just a 15-minute walk away.


The nearest train station – Botanic Train Station – is also only five minutes away, and from here you can easily reach Belfast Grand Central, as well as nearby towns and cities like Bangor, Larne and even Dublin.


The campus itself, which dates back to 1845, is one of the university’s greatest assets. It’s packed with historic buildings – none more iconic than the striking Lanyon Building – and perfectly manicured lawns.

The university’s academic structure is made up of three core faculties (Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences; Engineering and Physical Sciences; and Medicine, Health and Life Sciences), each comprising various smaller schools into which students are enrolled.

All these areas are just a few minutes' walk from campus, so you never have to worry about being late for lectures! Student housing ranges from converted terraced homes to modern purpose-built residences, with lots of options suited to different budgets.


Stanmillis, Lisburn Road and Malone Road (part of Botanic) offer various shops, cafes and takeaways, while Holylands is more residential. Another option is the city centre, however this tends to be more expensive and is further from campus.
