Its magnificent oceanside, mountain-rimmed setting on Canada’s Pacific Coast attracts visitors and residents from all over the world. What makes Vancouver’s natural beauty even more enticing is its moderate climate.

In a country that’s notorious for its harsh winter weather, Vancouver has some of the mildest weather in North America with warm, pleasant summers and cool, wet winters. From snow-topped mountains to sun-drenched beaches, Vancouver has something to offer for all seasons.

An entire world in just one city

If you’ve chosen to study and live in Vancouver you’ll live amongst many different cultures, races, ethnicities, and religions. It’s one of the most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities in Canada with a zero-tolerance policy on discrimination of any kind.

A growing hub of tech innovation

It’s a university graduate’s dream to get their foot in the door of the corporate world immediately after graduating. And if you’re planning to pursue studies in the technology field or have ambitions of becoming a ‘techpreneur’ you should consider Vancouver.

According to the Vancouver Economic Commission, the tech sector is the second-fastest-growing sector in British Columbia. The city is a hub for ‘techies’ and is trying to attract talent from all over the world due to an ever-expanding gap in expertise.

Vancouverites transitions from hard workers during the day to hard partiers at night. All over the city, you’ll find sections of neighbourhoods ready for night-time fun.

Granville Street

Vancouver’s equivalent of the Las Vegas Strip is the city’s original entertainment district, Granville Street. Typically packed with a high energy, younger university crowd, this street is littered with block after block of pubs, dance clubs and live music venues that stay open until the early hours of the morning.

Main Street

The Main Street has a “hipster hangout” reputation. As the heart of the city’s craft brewing community, the area is home to plenty of chilled out tasting rooms, farm-to-table restaurants that offer bespoke cocktails, hole-in-the-wall gems and a couple of clubs where you can try out your moves.

Yaletown

Kitsilano

This beach-side neighbourhood is a bit more laid back with smaller spots filled with locals. But you’ll still find lots of pubs and clusters of hotspots where you can grab a beer and watch a game along streets that lead down to the beach.
